Crispy Buffalo Chicken Cones
The perfect appetiser for any occasion! Bite-sized chicken pieces coated in a spicy sauce, served in waffle cones, and topped with sliced spring onions and celery sticks. They are easy to make and a crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 6 tbsp hot sauce (adjust according to spiciness preference)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 pack Rub & Grub Nashville Fried Chicken Coating
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
- 6 waffle cones
- 3 spring onions, thinly sliced
- 6 celery sticks
Method
- In a bowl, mix buttermilk, 3 tbsp hot sauce (depending on your preference for spiciness), and salt. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan/fryer to 175°C (347°F).
- Remove chicken from the marinade and let excess buttermilk drip off. Coat each piece in Rub & Grub Nashville Fried Chicken Coating.
- Fry chicken for 4-6 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, mix remaining 3 tbsp hot sauce and 3 tbsp hot oil from the fryer.
- Toss fried chicken in the hot sauce mixture until evenly coated.
- Fill each waffle cone with the buffalo chicken, and top with sliced spring onions and celery sticks.
- Serve and enjoy!
